'We searched Swansea's largest charity shop and this is what we found'

Swansea's largest charity shop has opened its doors and it is full of hidden treasures.

The superstore opened by Cancer Research UK in West Swansea Retail Park was welcomed by a local school choir with dozens of shoppers hoping to land themselves a bargain.

Designer and vintage clothes, large furniture, fine china and retro DVDs and CDs were just a few of the many ranges customers foraged through for a prized possession.

The largest charity shop joins the like of Barnado's which opened recently in the retail park opposite with some eye-popping bargains of it's own.

The Cancer Research UK superstore is the 29th in the UK with other branches open in Cardiff and Newport.

It's the largest charity shop in Swansea with 8,000 square foot of floor space with a charm that shoppers seem to love.

Hearing from a customer exiting the store; "its the land of bargains in there, I could fill my house but I only have one pair of hands" holding two seemingly large carrier bags.

We decided to find some of the best bargains on offer and we weren't disappointed, most items you could nab for pocket change, up to £3.

The store, which is split up into different sections, with even it's own designated 'drop off' station for people to make their own donations to Cancer Research.

Entering the store, you get a real sense of how many treasures could be hidden away. With sections for homeware, clothing, electronics, furniture and media, you could spend hours within its walls.

With 11 staff members at hand, queries and conversations were being had as both customers and employees were making the most of the debut day.

One shopper who wished to remain unnamed said: "I only really shop at charity shops for clothes at the moment, I think its wonderful that we have such a big store for a great cause".

"Everything £3 or less" signs are dotted across the walls, with more and more shoppers entering over leaving as the superstore fills up.

Honestly, I could have bought all three of the items and been happy with my purchases but there was quite a number of people eyeing up the outstanding value on music.

You find some gems in charity shops, they're like stepping back in time sometimes; to look back in nostalgia at some of the best time had to offer - admittedly I'm referring to the film Life of Brian and Heroes.

Wacky children's games; like 'Poo head' will likely ensure laughter for all the family with best-selling novels up for grabs for pennies.

Bundle deals for books, DVDs and albums were all outstanding value and a trip down memory lane for myself.

All for the value of pocket change, even kids can have enjoyment within a charity shop.

Both female and men's shoe options were on offer for the cheap price of £3, a wide range of shoes for all occasions. Furniture was by far the most expensive item in the store, you could choose to have the matching cushions for £3 or take the whole sofa for £150 to be delivered to your door. Good as new wooden tables and glass tables were around the £100 mark with one customer opting to purchase a set on the debut day. "It's a bargain" they said.
