Season Two Of ‘Nobody Wants This’ Is Officially Happening

Every so often a show comes along that swiftly sweeps us off our feet. Our current love affair? Netflix’ new romantic comedy, Nobody Wants This.

A nostalgic, TV dream, the romcom sees Kristen Bell and Adam Brody become an unlikely yet utterly lovable pair in a Veronica Mars X The OC crossover we never knew we needed.

In Nobody Want This, cynical and perennially single sex podcaster, Joanne, finds herself unexpectedly falling for unconventional rabbi, Noah. The chemistry is as instant as it is palpable, but Joanne and Noah (and us) are the only people who seem to think so.

Family, friends and faith (or in the case of Joanne, lack thereof) all stand in the way of something great. As the name suggests, nobody but our two protagonists want this couple to last.

If you’ve binged your way through already, you’ll likely have some burning questions about the show. Scroll on for answers.

Is There Going To Be A Season 2 Of Nobody Wants This?

Finally, a season two of Nobody Wants This has been confirmed! The official announcement came via Netflix’s chief content officer Bela Bajaria at the Bloomberg Screentime conference in Los Angeles.

There will be one small change however, with Bajaria also announcing new showrunners for the second season, Girls alum, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan.

What Will Happen In Season Two Of Nobody Wants This?

The final episode of Nobody Wants This also left us with a lot more questions than answers.

Sure, Noah and Joanne chose each other above all else, with the hot Rabbi chasing her down to declare his love. But, what will he do about his potential promotion to Head Rabbi? Will Joanne convert to Judaism? Who knows.

Then, there’s the building tension between Joanne’s sister, Morgan, and Noah’s brother, Sasha. Their secret friendship was finally uncovered by Sasha’s wife Esther during the final ep, which can only spell trouble in a potential second season. Stay tuned.

How Old Is Joanne And Noah In Nobody Wants This?

Joanne and Noah’s ages in Nobody Wants This are fairly ambiguous but estimated to be in the late 30s or early 40s.

In an episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, Kristen revealed her character’s age was up for debate, “She’s maybe 30ish… add 12.”

Adam added that the question of age was a concern when he was cast on the show.

“I said, ‘is anyone going to acknowledge or are we going to talk about the fact that we’re probably about 10 years too old to be doing this?” he commented.

“I’m very comfortable with my age,” he continued. “I just don’t want to pretend that I’m 10 years younger. I want you to reconcile that you’re casting me and you’ve got to account for the amount of time that this person has been on this earth and why they are in this position.”

Is Nobody Wants This Based On Erin Fosters’ Life?

Erin Foster is the brilliant and hilarious mind behindNobody Wants This, which is, in fact, based on her own love story and life. Once as cynical as her main character Joanne, Erin revealed she found the comedic value in failing at love.

“I was always a very cynical writer because I was a very cynical person,” she tells Tudum, “and that’s where all my comedy came from and where my comedic perspective came from — failing at dating and failing at relationships and things blowing up and finding the humor in it.”

That was until, she met her now husband.

“This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,” Foster says. “But I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable — there’s nothing to complain about. So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard.”
