We made the Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate House and it's a game changer

Most people have made a gingerbread house at some point, but what about a chocolate house?

The Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate House Kit has quickly become a favourite with families at Christmas, so obviously we had to try one out.

It comes in a novelty house shaped gift box, which includes all the chocolate components to construct your chocolate cottage.

Starting from around £10, they're not cheap, but you're actually getting quite a lot of chocolate in the kit - and we all know how much individual packets and bars have shot up in recent months.

The self assembly kit includes two 180g and two 110g bars of Dairy Milk, two 100g Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland bars, two bags of white buttons and one Flake.

You get instructions on how to make it and a template - and honestly it couldn't be simpler.

Anyone who's tried to piece together a gingerbread house with icing knows it ain't that easy. With pieces sliding everywhere and roofs usually falling off before you've even had chance to decorate, it can all get a little bit stressful.

With this kit all you have to do is cut a few pieces of chocolate and melt some chocolate to piece it together. It's a doddle.

You still get the fun aspect of decorating the edges with the white buttons and you could really go to town on it by adding some extras if you wish.

We were just keen to eat the thing though. The hardest part about it was trying not to eat any chocolate as we built the thing.

And as lovely as it looked once completed, we couldn't wait to demolish it so we could start eating it.

I'm not sure which was quicker, building it or eating it, but both were fun.

The kits are available in budget stores like B&M and Quality Save and from supermarkets including Tesco, where they are currently reduced to £8 with Clubcard. You can also order them from Ocado, where they've been reduced from £14 to £9.33.
