It takes a special type of footballer to be mentioned in the same breath as Mohamed Salah, but that is the level of praise being levelled at Khvicha Kvaratskhelia these days.
The Napoli forward is enjoying a superb season in Serie A, scoring 11 goals and providing 14 assists in 23 appearances. His high productivity levels have helped Luciano Spalletti's side shoot to the summit of the Italian top flight, with a first league title in 33 years now firmly in their sights.
Such is in the interest in the Georgian international, Kvaratskhelia's father was recently interviewed about his son and asked about the comparisons to Liverpool's number 11.

Speaking to Calcio Napoli 24, Badri Kvaratskhelia said: “It’s a wonderful comparison, because Salah is a great footballer who has done extraordinary things with Liverpool and Egypt, but we like Khvicha more. Many say that he’s the strongest, for me he is because I’m the father, but hearing it from others fills me with pride.”
At only 22 years old, Kvaratskhelia's performances have drawn attention from top clubs across Europe and Liverpool are one of those to have been tentatively linked with the winger. Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that he is one who has been 'observed' by both the Reds and Real Madrid.
Kvaratskhelia has age on his side when it comes to comparisons with Salah, but despite suggestions that he has had a quieter season, the Liverpool star has still returned 18 goals and seven assists in 32 matches across all competitions in the current campaign. If that is considered an average effort for Salah, then he is still the man to beat in European football.
