'We have to manage, there's no rainy day money' Residents forced to live in 'freezing' flats with rising energy bills now face rent hike

Social housing tenants have called their rent increase a "scandal" after having to live in 'freezing' conditions since flammable cladding was removed from their blocks of flats.

The nine blocks of flats owned by Salford Council but managed by Pendleton Together have faced many problems over the years.

The flammable cladding was removed from the blocks by the end of 2020 - three years after the Grenfell Tower fire in London.
