The Devil Wears Prada 2 is three weeks away, and we’re getting absolutely hyped for the film (and all the outfits, obviously). Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep have been keeping us fed with all of their incredible press tour looks, but there’s one particular colour both of them styled that has us screaming: cerulean blue.
Not turquoise. Not lapis. Cerulean blue.

Both Hathaway and Streep have been seen wearing the colour, a fun nod to the first The Devil Wears Prada film from 2006.
Hathaway first teased the sequel to the OG film by posting a TikTok in a cerulean blue sweater similar to the OG cable knit jumper she wore when Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, gave her a history lesson on the specific shade — and delivered the iconic line that I’ve already referenced in this article.
Since then, Hathaway rocked a grey tracksuit set with a cerulean blue Pantone swatch on the back when kicking off The Devil Wears Prada 2‘s press tour.

Most recently, Streep graced The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert in a knitted jumper that wasn’t only in the exact shade of blue that Andy Sachs (Hathaway’s character) rocked in the film, but the same style, too. When you look at the two side-by-side, they’re practically identical.

Streep’s sweater is custom J.Crew, so while you can’t get that exact one, the brand has the same colour in similar styles, or the exact style in different colours.
Cerulean blue is also set to be one of the trending colours of the northern hemisphere’s spring and summer, and not just because of the upcoming film.
The shade was everywhere during the spring and summer runways across fashion weeks in Milan, New York, London and Paris. Prada, Tory Burch and Valentino all featured their unique takes on the shade in its designs for their respective ready-to-wear spring and summer collections.
Whether that’ll translate over to be the defining colour of our winter, or switch hemispheres as we roll into spring towards the end of the year is yet to be seen.
It also lines up with the 2026 Pinterest Palette, the shades Pinterest predicted to be the defining colours of the year. While they leaned a little more towards ice blue in their palette, the cerulean shade still meets the ‘cool blue’ brief, in our opinion.
If you have a newfound obsession with cerulean blue knit jumpers like we do, you’re in luck. I’ve hunted down six that Miranda Priestly would approve of… or at least not turn her nose up at.
6 Cerulean Blue Jumpers To Shop If You’re As Obsessed With The Shade As Us

J.Crew Perfect Cashmere Crewneck Sweater
Want to stick with a Miranda Priestly-approved brand? While Streep’s exact cable knit jumper isn’t up for grabs, the brand has made a Cashmere Crewneck Sweater in the exact same shade, and it looks an awful lot like the knitted jumper Hathaway wore when teasing The Devil Wears Prada 2. It’s also made with 100 per cent cashmere, so will feel ultra soft.

Gordon Smith Hampton Cable Jumper
This is as close as you’re gonna get to Streep’s cable knit jumper she wore on The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert. It’s a pretty perfect dupe, with the exact silhouette and shade as the one she wore on the press tour. It’s also $114 cheaper than the ready-to-wear J.Crew knitted jumper that’s the same as Streep’s, just in different colours.

Uniqlo 100% Cashmere Crew Neck Sweater
Trust me when I say if there’s any jumper you should invest in this winter, it’s a Uniqlo Cashmere Crew Neck Sweater. It’s rare to find a 100 per cent cashmere garment for such an affordable price, and when treated with care, it can last in your wardrobe for years. I got one last season and am obsessed with it; it’s on high rotation in my winter wardrobe.

Cos Merino Wool V-Neck Jumper
Okay, this one leans slightly more ice blue than cerulean, but it was too pretty not to include. And it’s definitely something that Andy Sachs would wear in the original film.
