Friday ahead of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix was far from trouble-free for Red Bull. There had been hope beforehand that Monza’s layout would suit the team better than Zandvoort, but after Friday practice both Red Bulls were behind a Racing Bulls (Arvid Lindblad) and a Haas (Oliver Bearman).
Max Verstappen gave up his seat to Ayumu Iwasa during first practice, but once he got behind the wheel of the RB22 in the second session, the list of complaints was long. The four-time world champion struggled, among other things, with the brakes, a lack of rear downforce and a car that was bouncing heavily after set-up changes.
