Wayne Rooney has 'suspicion' about Liverpool this season
Wayne Rooney believes Liverpool could still end up finishing inside the top four in the Premier League despite being eight points off the pace.
The Reds have been terribly underwhelming this season and the 4-1 defeat away to Manchester City on Saturday afternoon saw them drop to eighth in the league.
Liverpool are now on course to finish outside of a Champions League spot for the first time since 2016, but the former Manchester United and Everton striker hasn't given up on Jurgen Klopp's side.
Newcastle United currently occupy third spot in the league after beating Manchester United 2-0 on Sunday evening at St James' Park. Tottenham can leapfrog Eddie Howe's side with a win at Everton on Monday night.
The DC United boss said: "The top four? A few weeks ago, there looked a possibility Manchester United could challenge for the Premier League title.

Gary Neville spotted Liverpool change that let Man City run riot in second half
Gary Neville has described Liverpool as "scruffy" during their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's side were praised.
The Citizens applied pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal in the early kick-off with a resounding win over the Reds. For Jurgen Klopp, it was another chastening defeat and their ninth of the league season as their Champions League qualification hopes were dealt a blow.
Mohamed Salah put the visitors ahead after being teed up by Diogo Jota but Jack Grealish and Julian Alvarez combined before the break to restore parity. A seven-minute sequence at the beginning of the second-half, including a goal just 57 seconds after the interval, brushed Liverpool aside.
After playing well in parts, Neville believes six key figures of Liverpool's structure became 'stretched' which allowed City to click into gear.
Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, he said: "With Liverpool you just never know, they've got the quality to go to Manchester City - they've not got Haaland - so I watched that game with interest."
