Wayne Rooney names Trent Alexander-Arnold in his England starting XI for World Cup

Rooney, who is in charge of MLS side DC United, named Alexander-Arnold in the side alongside Harry Maguire, John Stones and Luke Shaw.

"I’d go with [a back four of] Trent [Alexander-Arnold], John Stones, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw," Rooney told TalkSPORT.

The 24-year-old has won every major trophy with Liverpool, but his England career is yet to take off under Gareth Southgate.
