It was only a matter of time before Wayne Gretzky publicly responded to Michael Scott’s infamous television misquote.
Ahead of Thursday night’s slate of 2022 Stanley Cup Playoff games on TNT, hockey fans were treated to an unexpected surprise from The Great One himself. Before Game 2 of the New York Rangers versus Pittsburgh Penguins series, the NHL on TNT Twitter account posted a picture of Gretzky standing next to the Stanley Cup and holding a poster with a very familiar quote on it.
The quote? “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take – Wayne Gretzky – Michael Scott – Wayne Gretzky.” Yes, the hilarious moment — and often-used meme — from The Office has been recreated by Gretzky himself!
