Builder Watkin Jones wants to build a new homes development in a Gwynedd village.
The Bangor based developer has submitted plans for 25 properties on land at Caeartho near Caernarfon.
The land is at Hen Gapel on Ffordd Waunfawr and the homes would all be affordable according to the planning documents.
It comes as the issue of affordable housing is a hot topic in the county as prices have spiked in the last couple of years - partly due to demand for second homes.
Agent Cadnant Planning said: "The site lies within the development boundary of Caeathro and also benefits from extant consent for a development of 12 dwellings.
"The extant consent comprised of larger detached and semi-detached dwellings; however the applicant considers that the current demand in Caeathro is for smaller two- and three-bed family dwellings.
"This has been demonstrated by way of evidence of demand for affordable housing need figures for Caeathro and Caernarfon.
"Whilst the proposal would provide more dwellings in Caeathro than envisaged to be delivered by the JLDP(Joint Local Development Plan), the proposal would meet the needs of the local community and in light of this could be supported."
The application will be considered by planners at Gwynedd council.
