Adam Thomas was left concerned over 'spoiling' the first episode of Waterloo Road's new series, as fans hit out at the BBC show for killing off Chlo Charles, the wife of Adam's character Dante.
It was back in 2005 that the school drama made its debut on BBC One, with it becoming a ratings hit, as well as going onto win a National Television Award. Adam was right at the heart of the action as Dante, with his eventful relationship with girlfriend Chlo giving Waterloo Road a number of massive storylines, including teenage pregnancy and car crash controversy.
There was great excitement among fans of the long-running programme, when firstly, it was confirmed to be coming back and then that Adam and Chlo actress Katie Griffiths would be back in the Waterloo Road cast for its TV return. Hopes were high that Clo and Dante would be pivotal to the new series, however, Chlo's involvement proved to be very brief, as she died at the end of the first episode.

The early part of the episode saw Chlo knocked over by a car, with the accident coming back to haunt her as she suffered a brain haemorrhage in the closing moments, right as she was telling husband Dante about her ambitions to become a teaching assistant. Right, before the credits rolled, heartbroken viewers saw a devastated Dante being told by a doctor that Chlo had died, as fans hit out at the decision to kill her off.
Adam appeared as a guest on Lorraine on Wednesday, as the outrage over Chlo's death continued, an as Lorraine broached the subject, he became worried of giving too much away.
He first joked: "Did she die? I only just found out!" and then added: "The fans are outraged, they keep messaging me." Lorraine told him: "I thought it was going to be the happy family," as Adam joked: "I know! Well it started off so well and then the shock at the end, when she unfortunately...Chlo gets...ermmmm...I mean I don't know how much I'm allowed to give away. Is it out there now?"
Lorraine assured him: "It's very much out there," before Adam responded: "And it's no my fault!"
