The Coast Guard, RNLI and Water Safety Ireland have issued a joint water safety appeal as the country is expected to flock to bathing areas this bank holiday weekend.
The mercury is set to stick in the high teens all weekend and, despite showers also being predicted, many will be seek a swim to cool off.
The three organisations are asking people to have the correct equipment for water activities as well as a knowledge of what to do if things go wrong.
