Residents in parts of Chatham, Virginia, should boil their tap water before drinking or cooking with it after a water main break led the town to issue a boil water advisory on Sept. 28. The advisory was issued at 10:34 a.m. and remains in effect until further notice, WSLS reported. Four Pittsylvania County schools are affected, and the school district said the schools would be supplied with drinking water during the advisory.
The break occurred just west of Chatham High School, WDBJ reported. The town's advisory lists the affected areas as Tightsqueeze Industrial Road, the Pittsylvania County Schools Transportation Department, and Chatham Crossing Mobile Home Park at 889 Tightsqueeze Road. As of Sept. 30, the town's website still listed the advisory as in effect.
