The Ohio State basketball team battled hard and went toe-to-toe with No. 1 Purdue on Thursday night but lost a close one 71-69 after squandering a three-point lead with under a minute left.
Purdue was simply able to execute better than the Buckeyes down the stretch, and that seems to be a continuing theme with the OSU program and it once again bit the Bucks down the stretch. Still, there were moments when Ohio State looked like the better team by doing some really good things at both ends of the court.
Purdue head coach Matt Painter agreed when he met with the media afterward, and thanks to our friends at the Columbus Dispatch, we have the video to prove it. Watch Painter’s entire postgame press conference below and hear him praise the ability of this OSU team, how good freshman Brice Sensabaugh is, the coaching job Holtmann has done with the squad, and more.
Ohio State will next take head to College Park, Maryland to take on the Terrapins Sunday.
