The Los Angeles Rams’ offense was struggling for most of the first half, but Tutu Atwell came up big on their final drive of the second quarter. Not only did he have a key block on Puka Nacua’s 36-yard reception, but he bailed out Matthew Stafford by hauling in a pass for a 31-yard touchdown.
Stafford was flushed from the pocket and had to chuck it deep while rolling to his left, seemingly targeting Cooper Kupp in the end zone. But the pass came up short and Atwell was in perfect position. He caught the floating pass and waltzed into the end zone for six points, putting the Rams up 9-3 over the Steelers.
If Stafford was throwing to Kupp, he probably won’t admit it – and he shouldn’t, either way. It’s a touchdown for Atwell, his third of the season.
Just how they drew it up.
