Alzarri Joseph's three wickets and stroke-filled half-centuries by opener Brandon King and skipper Rovman Powell led a 10-run win for the West Indies in the second T20I against England. But a particular shot that became one of the highlights of the match was the six hit by Andre Russell.
Batting alongside King (82 not out off 52 balls), Russell's 10-ball stay included an off-balance six over long-off that only a batter with brute power of Russell can pull off. He was eventually dismissed for 14.
It was the fourth ball of the 20th over bowled by Tymal Mills, who took the pace off and delivered full and outside off-stump. Russell reached out for it, lost balance in his effort and eventually fell, but still could hit it far over long-off for a maximum.
West Indies eventually ended up putting up a challenging 176/7 on the board.
Joseph then led the bowling attack with a spell of 3 for 39, which was ably supported by left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein's 2 for 24, to limit England to 166 for 7. Jason Holder and Gudakesh Motie took one wicket each.
The win gave West Indies a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
