THIS stunner is the new Skoda Enyaq iV Coupe – and it is going to get the sporty, four-wheel-drive vRS treatment.
While it will be the first time the Czech car maker has applied its hot vRS badging to an all-electric model, it should live up to enthusiasts’ expectations.
With a system output of 220kW and a massive 460Nm of torque, it will cover the 0-62mph sprint in 6.5 seconds and go on to a top speed of 111mph. The vRS sits at the pinnacle of a three-model line-up, all of which use the same 82kWh battery.
The entry-level Coupe iV 80 comes with rear-wheel drive, a 150kW power output and a potential range of 339 miles, while the iV 80x has four-wheel drive and an output of 195kW.
Apart from the striking raked coupe profile and large panoramic glass roof, a different front apron and body-coloured side mouldings mark the Coupe out from its SUV sibling.
But Skoda say the new design still provides plenty of space for five people and a generous 570-litre boot for luggage.
Like the SUV, the Coupe’s interior features co-ordinated Design Selections and a range of individual options. There will also be racier SportLine and vRS trims.
Standard features include a 13in central infotainment screen, a 5.3in digital cockpit, dual-zone air con, a multi-function, heated, leather steering wheel and a keyless start button.
The SportLine and vRS feature a lowered sports chassis, 20in black alloys, full-LED Matrix headlights and a number of sporty exterior design details.
Pricing has still to be confirmed but the vRS model will be the first to go on sale later this month and will appear in showrooms in the early summer.
Skoda boss Thomas Schafer said: “The Enyaq Coupe brings even more emotiveness, sports styling and elegance to our iV family.”
