Watch the moment Johnny Depp wows the packed crowd while on stage at the Sage Gateshead

This is the moment Johnny Depp left the stage after wowing a packed crowd at the Sage Gateshead.

The Hollywood star made an guest appearance during Jeff Beck's gig at the music venue on Thursday night. The 58-year-old actor made his entrance after the guitarist had performed around three songs.

Johnny, who was also playing a guitar, sang a number of songs during the show. Fans clapped, screamed and shouted "I love you" as he left the stage following the much anticipated performance. He later greeted fans who were waiting outside and signed autographs as he left the building.

Johnny has caused a stir with fans since he arrived on Tyneside. On Wednesday night, the film star was spotted inside The Bridge Tavern on the Quayside in Newcastle with Sam Fender.

He was eating fish and chips in the pub on the same night as the verdict of his high-profile defamation case with Amber Heard, which he won. Staff in the pub closed off the terrace for him so he could meet with the North Shields singer.

Andrea Todd, 39, attended the gig at the Sage Gateshead with her friend Julie Gair, 39. The democratic services officer, from Amble, Northumberland, said: "It was a good night and he was a true gentleman when he came and saw everyone after the concert.

"We kept ringing the Sage box office as we had a feeling he would come after the Sheffield gig and we managed to get tickets yesterday. We were hoping Sam would go on stage too and sing 'High Ho Silver Lining' but there was no sign of him!"

Janine Latchford, General Manager of The Bridge Tavern, told Chronicle Live earlier this week how Johnny left employees stunned when he entered the pub with friends and tucked into one of their dishes. She described it as the most "surreal" day of her life.

She said "He was incredible. He gave me a hug and I told him that I loved him pretty much as soon as I saw him! He loved the art work and he was asking questions about the Tyne Bridge. He said he’d never been to Newcastle before."

The same night, Johnny won a legal battle with ex Amber Heard, 36, following a six week long trial in the US. He was awarded $10million in compensation and $5million in punitive damages.

The Mirror Online reported how the actor sued his former partner for defamation over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed she wrote about the alleged domestic violence she suffered, although she did not name her ex-husband.

He demanded more than £38 million, saying her domestic abuse claims have all but ended his career and ruined his reputation. He denies ever physically or sexually assaulting Heard.

The Aquaman actress filed a countersuit against Johnny, seeking almost £78 million in damages and saying his legal team falsely accused her of fabricating claims against the actor.

A jury ruled in his favour following weeks of testimony from the pair, their friends, expert witnesses and even Johnny's former partner supermodel Kate Moss.
