WATCH: Texans QB C.J. Stroud’s first NFL completion is to himself

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud will never be able to get this off his career stat sheet.

On a second-and-7 from the Houston 41-yard line with 12:14 to go in the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens, Stroud had his pass bat at the line of scrimmage. Rather than slap the ball away for an incomplete pass, the No. 2 overall pick caught the deflection and advanced towards the line of scrimmage for a gain of one yard.

The Texans weren’t able to continue their drive as they turned it over on downs. Still, Houston wouldn’t have been in position had Stroud not fought for that solitary yard.
