Stetson Bennett bounced back from his four interceptions last week by throwing a game-winning touchdown pass in the final 6 seconds and he showed similar resilience against the Chargers on Saturday.
After a bad pick in the end zone, Bennett came right back two drives later and made his best throw of the preseason. He tossed a 47-yard bomb to rookie J.J. Laap down the middle of the field, hitting him in stride for a touchdown.
It was perhaps the best throw of Bennett’s preseason career thus far, showing he has a strong enough arm to hit his receivers deep down the field. It was also a good catch by Laap, which shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Bennett is still battling to be the Rams’ backup quarterback in the first two games of the season and throws like this one will certainly help his case.
