Since teaming up last year, Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford have received more time in the spotlight than ever before. That’s been helped by the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl win, too, which led to a hilarious AT&T commercial starring Stafford as he pokes fun at his move from the Lions to the Rams.
In their latest spot, McVay and Stafford appear in a video for the highly anticipated “Top Gun: Maverick” movie that will be released next week. McVay gives one of his patented speeches, which is enough to get a sloth’s blood pumping.
“When you want to be the best of the best, you gotta go beyond the playbook,” McVay said. “It’s not a skillset. It’s a mindset.”
Stafford appears in the video, too, albeit not in the same capacity as his coach. The promo ends with McVay dropping a tagline after putting on his aviators: “Let’s ride.”
