Scot Gemmill’s Scotland Under-21s take on Wales as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of their narrow loss to Sweden in the first of their friendly double header in Spain.
The young Scots are in Muricia and take on the Dragons at the Pinatar Arena at lunchtime. Gemmill went with a youthful side against the Swedes on Thursday. Former Rangers kid Dire Mebude, now with Manchester City, netted long with Lewis Fiorini in an entertaining five-goal class against the Scandinavians.
Now they turn their attention to the Welsh. But they will have to go for the win without Josh Doig, Hayden Hackney and Kieron Bowie with the trio leaving the camp after the Sweden game, although Aberdeen’s Ryan Duncan has joined up. But it’s a strong XI named by Gemmill with Mebude and Bayern Munich’s Liam Morrison involved. Rangers full back Adam Devine named alongside rising Motherwell star Max Johnston and Josh Adam and Celtic’s Ben Summers are among the substitutes.
