The Washington Commanders might have landed the biggest steal of the 2022 NFL draft at quarterback, grabbing North Carolina’s Sam Howell after he fell all the way to the fifth round.
Heading into the 2021 college football season, Howell was considered a potential No. 1 overall pick, thanks to his impressive 2020 campaign. Though he struggled with consistency at times last season, Howell’s record-breaking performance in 2020 against Wake Forest gave NFL teams a glimpse of what he could be capable of at the next level.
