On the second leg of a back-to-back on Monday, the Golden State Warriors rested four core players against the New Orleans Pelicans. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green all stayed on the bench on Monday night in the big easy.
Although the Warriors were shorthanded, Monday’s game against the Pelicans provided Golden State’s young core with extended playing time. While Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga led the way, rookies Ryan Rollins and Patrick Baldwin Jr. made appearances off the bench.
During his 16 minutes off the bench on Monday, Baldwin Jr. recorded an NBA career-first. With under seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Baldwin Jr. drilled his first 3-pointer since being selected by the Warriors with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft.
