Through the first three games of the Golden State Warriors’ opening playoff series against the Denver Nuggets, Jonathan Kuminga has played a limited role off the bench in Steve Kerr’s rotation.
With a DNP in game three, Kuminga tallied only eight minutes of action in the series heading into Sunday’s game four. With the Warriors struggling to close out the series with a sweep against the Nuggets in game four, Kerr called on Kuminga for a spark off the bench. The 19-year-old delivered.
With the Warriors trailing in the second quarter, Kuminga soared to the basket for a rim-rocking two-handed dunk after a fast break.

Along with his emphatic jam, Kuminga tallied a playoff-best nine points on 3-of-4 shooting from the floor in 11 minutes off the bench.
Despite Kuminga’s spark, the Warriors missed the chance to sweep the Nuggets with a 126-121 loss in game four on Sunday. With the series turning back to the Bay Area on Wednesday for game five, Kuminga could earn more minutes after a strong performance in game four.
