In his previous video release 'Why?' Mondraker ambassador Richard Gasperotti rode down Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. However, the world-famous volcano in Italy just wasn’t enough for 'Gaspi', and he has now headed to Guatemala to shoot another epic short. 'Over the Edge' tells the story of the ascent and descent of the three most active volcanoes in the country.
By now we should all know that Gasperotti loves a challenge; the Czech-born mountain biker has a vast and diverse resume of outstanding accomplishments on two wheels. He's participated in Red Bull Rampage four times, was a part of the Flowriders squad, and showcased his talents in the Flowshow mountain bike tour. He has also competed in Crankworx and Adidas Slopestyle and raced in a variety of mountain bike disciplines, from cross-country mountain bike racing to downhill racing.
His latest release is an exceptional short, just fifteen minutes long, you’re immersed with Gasperotti in first person, sharing the adrenaline and the experience of overcoming the limits imposed by the most hostile of natural environments.
Richard rides his Mondraker Foxy Carbon RR down Pacaya at 2,552 meters, Acatenango at 3,976 meters and Fuego, the most active of the three, at 3,768 meters. Incredibly, he rides during an actual eruption, with gas venting, smoke, and lava everywhere, which makes for intense, nerve-shredding, edge-of-your-seat viewing.
