Preseason games may not count against teams’ records, but coaching in these exhibition contests can still cause some stress on the sidelines. Sean McVay takes every game seriously and wants his team to play the best it possibly can, which was a struggle on Friday night when the Rams faced the Texans.
McVay joined the broadcast for some live analysis, and during the segment, running back A.J. Rose dropped a handoff on third down.
“You guys are killing me right now. I can’t even manage a game. This is really frustrating,” McVay said, half-joking.
Andrew Whitworth: “Don’t let the angry sharks come out.”
McVay: “They’re already out, bro. No, I’m kidding. No, I’m actually not kidding. We can’t do that on third-and-1.”

McVay was visibly frustrated, at least until the Rams redeemed themselves one play later by forcing a fumble on punt coverage, returning the loose ball for a touchdown.
“Ball’s out. There we go, baby! And he totally redeems himself,” McVay said with a smile. He then told the booth he had to go back to coaching with the Rams planning to go for two points. They didn’t convert to tie the game, but at least McVay was in a better mood after that play.
