Um, what just happened?
Despite a valiant effort through 59 minutes and 32 seconds of their Week 8 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, the Carolina Panthers were seemingly going to fall short. But there was still 28 seconds left.
And right at that 28-second mark, with the Panthers down six, quarterback PJ Walker took a shotgun snap all the way back at his own 38-yard line. He’d then buy time, scramble out left and unload this . . .

The throw miraculously found the hands of wide receiver DJ Moore in the end zone for a game-tying 62-yard touchdown. In addition to knotting this NFC South battle up at 34 apiece, the score moved Moore up to 152 receiving yards and Walker to a career-high 317 passing yards.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, Moore would go, well, nuts in the celebration following the catch. His helmet removal and subsequent toss ended up costing Carolina 15 yards on an unsportsmanlike penalty—pushing Eddy Piñeiro back for a longer (and failed) game-winning extra point try.
