WATCH: Olympiacos 1-1 Rangers Europa League Highlights

Olympiacos hosted Rangers in Greece on Thursday night for a Europa League clash, with the points shared on matchday four after a 1-1 draw. See a full Olympiacos vs Rangers match report and game highlights here.

Points Shared Between Olympiacos & Rangers

Olympiacos and Rangers started things off extremely tentatively on Thursday afternoon and after a nervy first 45 in Athens, the teams headed down the tunnel at the break at 0-0.

After a goalless first half the game burst into life during the second period and it was Olympiacos who broke the deadlock just after the break through Ayoub El Kaabi.

The Moroccan forward wasn’t too involved until he scored, but El Kaabi certainly made his mark on the game when he was given an opportunity with a stunning hit to hand the hosts the advantage.

El Kaabi was forced into a spinning volley in the box and it was anything but a simple technique, however the striker managed to find the top corner with a perfect strike.

Despite all of their hard work to score the first goal in the game, Olympiacos were in front for just five minutes in the second half before throwing their lead away.

Cyriel Dessers was the one to equalise for Ranger and as his side pounced on a loose ball the striker was released on goal, with the Belgian making no mistake in levelling the scores with half an hour left to play.

The Rangers goal did feel inevitable based on their season so far, as the side have scored in every European game so far this year.

The points were eventually shared between the sides in Greece after a tense last half an hour, with both sides hovering just below the automatic qualification spots after a 1-1 draw.

WATCH: Olympiacos 1-1 Rangers Europa League Highlights

There is a while until the next Europa League round of fixtures, with the final international break of the year coming up next week.

However when European fixtures do return at the end of November, Rangers will face Nice who are struggling at the bottom of the new-look group stage table.

Olympiacos on the other hand have a tougher fixture against FCSB in their next game who have surprised this year in the competition with some good results, despite a 4-0 loss to Rangers.
