Watch: New Hall of Famers Get Emotional Receiving News

As part of the NFL Honors award show Thursday night, the league revealed the newest members of the Hall of Fame. In total, eight former players and one former coach will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.

While the public found out Thursday night, these nine new Hall of Famers got the news over the weekend. The Pro Football Hall of Fame had one current Hall of Famer give the news to the future inductees, filming it along the way.

As usual, the videos of the class of 2023 receiving the news are heartwarming and incredibly emotional.

In some cases, former teammates welcomed the new members to the Hall of Fame, like Joe Namath welcoming Joe Klecko, Derrick Brooks welcoming Rondé Barber and Roger Staubach welcoming Chuck Howley. In other cases, players got the news from other Hall of Famers who played their positions, like Walter Jones with Joe Thomas and Ty Law with Darrelle Revis.

Former Dolphins coach told his former linebacker, Zach Thomas, while Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed the news to DeMarcus Ware. Two new Hall of Famers, Ken Riley and Don Coryell have died since retiring, and were not able to see their inductions. In their cases, the video shows their children getting phone calls informing them of the news.

Each new member had a different reaction after finding out, with some laughing and others crying, in what was likely one of the best moments of their lives.
