Michigan State football has had a long history of having some great defensive linemen in the building. The defensive line will be a big story this year under new defensive line coach Legi Suiaunoa. Suiaunoa spoke to the media on Wednesday about his unit and gave his thoughts on where they stand following the Maryland game and heading into the match-up with Prairie View A&M.
One key point he went over was the emergence of Alex VanSumeren as a starter at the tackle position, but he feels he has four starters in his room, with five or six guys who could play at the defensive tackle position.
He also discussed how he has adapted to using more transfer players, something he didn’t do as much at Oregon State.
