Manchester United finally won their first Europa League game of the season on Thursday night, see the full match highlights from Old Trafford as well as a breakdown of the game below.
Manchester United Finally Win
It has not been easy for Manchester United in Europe this season but finally they got back on track this week, as Amad Diallo shone for the Red Devils who beat PAOK 2-0 in a dominant performance at Old Trafford.
Although United were on top throughout the first half, they were unable to find the back of the net before the break with the visitors holding their own in a scrappy half.
But the hosts were finally able to break the deadlock just minutes into the second half, as Amad Diallo made all of the United first half pressure count with a looping header in the 50th minute.
Bruno Fernandes started the move with a delightful ball into the PAOK box from deep in midfield and Diallo was able to float his header right into the corner with perfect precision to give United a deserved lead.
Although his first goal was impressive, it was Diallo’s second of the game that fans will remember. The 22-year-old won back possession inside the PAOK half and after driving to the edge of the box he unleashed a bending shot that nestled right into the bottom corner.
Marcus Rashford missed an opportunity to score the game’s third in added time as he rolled a shot just wide of the post from inside the box.
United deserved the win but PAOK did have chances throughout the game, including an especially big one that fell to Tarik Tissoudali who couldn’t quite compose himself inside the area.
The win was United’s first in the Europa League this season after three consecutive draws against Twente, Porto and Fenerbahce.

The three points for United push them up to 15th in the standings and after three draws to start off their European campaign, the win finally gets them on track to qualify.
Manchester United now face Leicester in the Premier League in their next game before the international break. The Red Devils next fixture in the Europa League is at the end of November against Norwegian side Bodo Glimt.
PAOK slip to 33rd in the table with a loss and it would take a huge turnaround for the Greek side to be able to make the knockouts.
