The Detroit Lions raised some eyebrows around the league when they selected Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. It was higher than Gibbs was generally projected to come off the board.
Thus far, Gibbs sure looks like he’ll validate the pick. The speedy Gibbs has been outstanding in Lions training camp, notably with his receiving ability. On Tuesday, Gibbs got to show the New York Giants just how dangerous he can be in space.
Early in the joint practice in Detroit, Gibbs absolutely cooked veteran Giants LB Bobby Okereke in a coverage drill.

Later in the practice, Gibbs again flashed the quickness and hands in scoring a receiving TD from QB Jared Goff on a red zone play where he accelerated away from three Giants defenders on a crossing route.
