Ivan Provedel left Atletico Madrid stunned as the Lazio goalkeeper headed home an equaliser with the final touch of the match.
Atletico were set to pick up an opening Champions League win in Italy, as Pablo Barrios’ first-half strike gave them a lead they maintained deep into stoppage-time.
Four minuted were added on at the end of the match, with all of those played by the time Lazio sent a corner into the Atletico box and the ball was scrambled away by Diego Simeone’s side.
Lazio stayed on the attack though and the ball was played back to Luis Alberto, who whipped a brilliant ball into the middle and Provedel was on hand to power home a header for the most unlikely of equalisers.

Next up for Lazio in the Champions League is a trip to Scotland to take on Celtic, while Atletico will host Feyenoord in a fortnight’s time.
Celtic will be looking for a big response when Lazio visit after a frustrating night to kick their Group E campaign off. Brendan Rodgers’ side conceded on the stroke of half-time against Feyenoord, before having two men sent off in the second-half as they fell to a 2-0 defeat away from home.
