The Minnesota Vikings got the first possession in Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals and Kirk Cousins went to work against their aggressive defense.
Over the Vikings 10 play, 75-yard drive, Cousins took matters into his own hands. He ran the ball three times on the drive, including running 17 yards for the first touchdown of the game.

It was a really impressive play by the Vikings starting quarterback. On third down, Cousins didn’t see anything open so he scrambled to his right. When he saw a wide open patch of grass, he took full advantage of it.
It was one of the most impressive runs that Cousins has had in his entire career. It was the second-longest touchdown run and 19th rushing touchdown of his career.
Per Next Gen Stats, Cousins hit 18.29 miles per hour which is the fastest rushing touchdown of his since 2017.
Kirk Cousins' max speed on his 17-yard TD was 18.29 MPH, according to @NextGenStats.
Not even the fastest TD run of his career, but fastest since 2017.

Cousins had his Lamar Jackson costume on during that first drive.
