Katie McCabe scored a stunning volley as a ruthless Arsenal side put Liverpool to the sword in the first half of their FA Cup tie at Prenton Park in Tranmere.
The Gunners took a 3-0 lead into the break against a Liverpool side captained by Ireland international Niamh Fahey, who earned her 100th Irish cap earlier this month.
They required three goals of the highest quality to do so, however, Caitlin Foord netting twice either side of the spectacular first-time volley from Kilnamanagh's McCabe.
The Reds lined up with Niamh Fahey, captain, in the heart of the defence and former Shelbourne striker Leanne Kiernan up front, while Megan Campbell was on the bench.
McCabe started on the left of a front three but Arsenal initially found it difficult to deal with the energetic high press from the well-drilled Championship leaders.
Arsenal aren't top of the WSL for no reason, however, and they hit the front when Rafaelle Souze threaded a precise ball through for Foord to smash low past Rachael Laws.
Kiernan had a great chance to level up for the Reds moments later as she was played through wide on the right but, with just Manuela Zinsberger to beat, she couldn't find the far corner.
The home side were made to pay for that as Kiernan's loose header from a Kim Little corner fell to McCabe, who smashed the ball first-time past a helpless Laws.
It's the fifth goal of the season for the Ireland captain, who was named WSL player of the month back in October for her outstanding form.
And Foord made it three moments later with another wonderfully-struck volley to all-but end the tie as a contest after 45 minutes.
