Justyn Ross is the preeminent standout of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2023 training camp and has become something of an obsession for the team’s fanbase. His highlight reel from camp is well documented, but on Thursday he got back to the basics, showing off some crafty route running that is sure to turn heads ahead of Kansas City’s first preseason game next week.
Ross’ work in practice was featured in a short clip that was posted to the Chiefs’ official Twitter page after practice.

While a win in one-on-one workouts is hardly indicative of his potential in the long term, Ross’ ability to create separation with his feet is undeniable. Between the improved technique and his budding chemistry with Kansas City’s quarterbacks, Ross is among the players that fans should watch closest during the Chiefs’ preseason exhibitions later in August.
If he can put it all together through the end of the month, Ross may be the team’s top breakout player during the 2023 regular season.
