Justin Jefferson is now over 100 yards and it’s just halfway through the third quarter on Thursday Night Football.
During the first possession of the third quarter for the Vikings, Sam Darnold found his favorite weapon down the sideline facing man coverage. Darnold lobbed Jefferson the ball who bobbled it a couple of times, had to re-adjust his position, and finally came down with the ball in a circus-type catch.
Minnesota couldn’t punch the ball in for a touchdown following Jefferson’s catch, but the Vikings did get on the board with a Will Reichard kick. The Vikings are currently up 17-14 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Jefferson has a game-high eight catches for 115 yards. Darnold has thrown for 173 yards and two scores so far in the game.
The Vikings’ defense did intercept Matt Stafford on the Rams’ first possession of the second half. Minnesota will need to remain strong against Stafford who has picked the Vikings’ secondary apart with Puka Nacua back in the lineup.
