The standout result from the Dublin senior club football championship over the weekend was newcomers Cuala dumping Ballymun Kickhams out.
The southside outfit battled to a 2-8 to 0-11 win which ensured Ballymun didn't progress out of the group stages.
While it wasn't a classic of a spectacle, it had all of the intensity one could possibly ask for with both sides led by some of the best players in the county and country.

Naturally, Con O'Callaghan was a marked man throughout with John Small tasked with keeping tabs on him.
But it was a hit from another Dubs veteran that the 26-year-old sharpshooter was surely left feeling the most in the morning.
With Cuala on the charge, O'Callaghan received the ball only to be almost instantly greeted by a massive hit from James McCarthy.
SportsJoe's Niall Mcintyre shared the below clip of the challenge which resulted in a free-kick. To his credit, O'Callaghan popped right back up with little to no complaint out of him.
Cuala's own stout defensive front was headed by Mick Fitzsimons while Luke Keating notched 1-4 to ease the scoring burden on Con while his brother Niall also proved a thorn in Ballymun's side.
Other inter-county stalwarts to feature for the vanquished side were Davey Byrne and Dean Rock but there was no Paddy Small as he missed out through injury.
Things don't get any easier for Cuala as next up for them are favourites Kilmacud Crokes.
Last year's beaten All-Ireland finalists cruised through after a 25-point drubbing of Templeogue Synge Street in which Shane Walsh came off the bench to make his bow after his much-debated switch from home club Kilkerrin/Clonberne.
The rest of the quarter-final lineup consists of Na Fianna against Whitehall, Castleknock versus Thomas Davis and Ballyboden St Enda’s going up against Ballinteer St John’s.
They will take place over the weekend of September 17/18.
