WATCH: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Highlights In Texas

It was hyped up to be one of the best boxing bouts this year – however, fans were left very disappointed as Jake Paul and Mike Tyson played out a dull 8 round affair – with no knockdowns. You can see for yourself the best Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson highlights – with the judges eventually giving the clash to YouTuber, turned fighter – Jake Paul on points.

Jake Paul Beats Mike Tyson On Points Decision In Texas

Mike Tyson might have got a mega-buck purse to come out of retirement at the age of 58 to take on YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul – but the former two-time world champion paid a bigger price, with his legacy dented after he failed to knockdown 27 year-old Paul.

The bout, which was due to take place back in July, was heavily billed on Netflix (283m subscribers) and despite 70,000 fans turning up live to watch in Texas – it certainly DIDN’T live up to the boxing hype.

Tyson was last in the ring back 19 years ago professionally and it was clear from round one that the 58 year-old was a shadow of his past glories – looking slow and cumbersome.

Jake at 31 years younger than Tyson was only stepping into the ring for the twelfth time, but looked far more athletic – albeit a bit of a novice and still with a lot to learn you feel if he comes up against a younger more ‘ring-fit’ opponent.

No Knockdowns To Entertain The Crowd

Yes, the pair traded a few blows that landed, but even though Tyson looked shaken and unsteady after taking a few hits – neither fighter looked in any real danger of getting floored.

In their defence, they both lasted the distance – seeing out the full eight two-minute rounds. With the judges finally scoring the bout on a clear points decision to Jake Paul – see below.

‘Iron Mike’ might have to look for a name change if he’s to fight again – but you suspect, this will be it for the former great.

Tyson landed just 18 punches in the fight – compared to 78 from Paul.

Let’s just hope boxing fans try and erase this showdown and put it down to Tyson having one last payday – let’s call it his ‘Testimonial’ and move on.

As for Jake, he took his boxing record to 11 wins (1 defeat – Tommy Fury)) and is sure to be back for more. Who he takes on next hasn’t been decided, but whoever it is – it’s sure to billed-up as a blockbuster. Let’s just hope his next one actually is.

It was reported that Paul took home £30m and Tyson getting £15m – not bad for 16 minutes work.

While the best boxing betting sites in the UK had Jake Paul as the pre-fight favourite, so were right on that score.

WATCH: Jake Paul Gives Ankle Excuse About Poor Tyson Show

Soon after the fight, Jake Paul and his promotor faced the press and with them clearly aware that the fight wasn’t as good as they’d promised – Paul reeled out an ankle excuse.

He went onto say that about 22 days before the Mike Tyson fight, he badly sprained his ankle – tearing ligaments and leaving him on crutches for five days.

As a result, Paul lost two weeks of sparring ahead of the fight and said mentally this made the clash a lot harder.
