Lightning struck Dublin's iconic Poolbeg Towers as thunderstorms enveloped the capital.
The thunder, lightning and rain mark the end of the record breaking heatwave as normal temperatures are set to resume from tonight onwards. The incredible footage was taken by Clinical Director at the National Maternity Hospital Roger McMorrow.
The top doc set his iPhone to slow mow video and placed it on a window sill in St Vincent's Hospital in Blackrock to capture the "lucky" shot. In the footage, a fork of lightning hits the top of the Dublin's Goalposts, as the Poolbeg Towers are affectionately referred to.
