NEW DELHI: In a lively moment during the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings' all-rounder Imad Wasim stole the spotlight with a playful response to chants of 'Babar' from the crowd, reminiscent of football icon Lionel Messi's famous celebration.
The incident occurred during a PSL 2024 fixture at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where Karachi Kings, under the leadership of captain Shadab Khan, opted to bat after winning the toss against Islamabad United.
Despite facing early setbacks, Karachi Kings rallied with contributions from James Vince and Kieron Pollard, who forged a crucial partnership after the team found themselves at 49-4.
However, it was Imad Wasim's effective bowling spell as first-change left-arm spinner that added further impetus to Karachi's performance, claiming the wicket of Shoaib Malik and conceding only 18 runs in his four overs.
