The New York Giants didn’t look like much of a match for the Los Angeles Rams heading into Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium, but they absolutely made things interesting. The Rams eked out a narrow 26-25 victory on the road after nearly blowing a 26-19 lead, improving their record to 9-7 and moving one step closer to a playoff berth.
The Rams led all afternoon and were only tied with the Giants once when the score was 7-7 early in the second quarter, but New York hung around and outscored the Rams 15-6 in the final 20 minutes of the game.
The play that nearly cost the Rams was New York’s 94-yard punt return for a touchdown with 3:27 left in the fourth quarter. The Giants went for two after a penalty by the Rams, but Tyrod Taylor’s pass fell incomplete so the Rams remained in the lead by one point.
The Rams went three-and-out on their second-to-last final possession and gave the Giants a shot to win the game with a 54-yard field goal, but Mason Crosby’s kick missed wide left.
