The hit BBC One Scotland show Inside Central Station is back on TV tonight for a fourth series and the first episode sees train station staff getting themselves in a bit of a ‘flap’ over a trapped pigeon.
The popular fly-on-the-wall series follows the interesting characters who work and travel through one of Britain’s busiest train stations.
Tonight, viewers will get to see what happens when Station Manager, Drew Burns, is called to rescue a bird after it was discovered stuck in the roof of one of the station’s retail units on Argyle Street.

Drew – who has become one of the most popular stars of Inside Central Station since it first aired in 2019 – jokes: “It’s a pigeon and, you know me, [I’m the] pigeon man of Central – I need to look at it, need to investigate.”
After calling on the SSPCA for help, Drew enlists the help of Greg from the station’s maintenance team to try to capture the bird in what he dubs ‘Operation Save the Pigeon’.
Greg then asks for some “pigeon-whispering tips” to help coax the pigeon out, to which Drew responds: “Sometimes if you sing a song… maybe something about Glasgow?”
Thankfully, it doesn’t take long before the SSPCA team successfully rescues the pigeon and it is safely returned to the streets of Glasgow city centre.
Inside Central Station, produced by STV Studios and narrated by Martel Maxwell, has proven to be one of the BBC Scotland channel’s most popular series since it first aired in 2019, and the fourth series will see the show move to a primetime slot on BBC One Scotland.
Elsewhere in tonight’s episode, a Scotland game at Hampden sees the concourse flooded by football fans during rush hour but there are not enough trains; the Central staff make preparations for a possible influx of Ukrainian refugees through the station; and the start of a major multi-million pound engineering renovation reveals some fascinating relics from the past.
Inside Central Station begins tonight (Monday September 5) at 8pm on BBC One Scotland and BBC iPlayer.
