This is the shocking moment two cars crashed on Saturday, December 3, while taking on a roundabout near a major shopping area on Edinburgh's outskirts.
The vehicles were trying to negotiate the roundabout at Straiton Mains - near the Ikea and Costco stores among other shops - from different directions when the smash happened.

The incident was caught on a dash cam by a driver in a nearby car and shared with Edinburgh Live.
One witness said: "The road was pretty busy at the time with the usual Saturday shoppers - even more so this close to Christmas, I suppose. All of a sudden there was a loud bang and the cars skidded to a halt."
In the video, two small cars can be seen heading towards the roundabout - one from the right and another one from the road straight ahead.
Both cars are rocked by the force of the side-on impact before they came to rest in the middle of the road. Other drivers can be seen hitting the brakes as they approach the aftermath.
Both cars sustained damage as a result of the incident, with the bumper of the grey VW closest to the camera clearly falling off on the driver's side, while debris from the other car can be seen flying off.
It was unclear if anyone was hurt in the minor collision. Police Scotland were contacted for comment.
