Former Scotland and Celtic manager Gordon Strachan was caught on camera jokingly taking a Rangers fan's chair.

The incident happened at North Berwick’s Renaissance Club during the Scottish Open.

The fan had left his deckchair to get drinks, only to find Strachan seated upon return, while pretending to be asleep. The fan tapped Strachan, saying "Excuse me" and "Yoohoo!"

Strachan, realising the fan's allegiance, replied: "That sounds like a Rangers supporter there."

The fan retorted: "Aye, because I was polite and I don’t smell. Right, excuse me, off my seat."

The cheeky exchange continued with Strachan quipping: "I wondered if it would be a wider person. Now are you sure because I’m quite old?"

As the banter continued, one of the fans' friends said: "That’s Gordon Strachan."

Unfazed, the fan retorted: "I don’t care who he is!"

The exchange ended on a humorous note.
