Washington Commanders rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes has impressed his coaches and teammates at every stop since arriving in town last month. Forbes intercepted a pass at the rookie minicamp, stood out in OTAs and finished strong during Washington’s rookie minicamp this week.
Much of the minicamp saw Forbes get work against the Commanders’ outstanding wide receivers, particularly Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson. Forbes won some battles and lost some battles. Most importantly, he was getting better with every rep.
On Thursday, the Commanders wrapped up minicamp by practicing inside the bubble; due to the poor air quality stemming from the Canadian wildfires.
Forbes was matched up against Dotson — Washington’s No. 1 pick in 2022 — and made an outstanding play, breaking up a pass. Forbes looked to have good coverage on the play, but what stood out was his length.
