Watch: Driver calls 999 while speeding in Jaguar and claims brakes have stopped working

A man who falsely claimed that his vehicle was out of control as part of a financial ploy has been jailed.

Nathan Owen, 33, told Merseyside Police on 6 March, 2024 that his Jaguar had malfunctioned and he was unable to stop. He drove at “extreme speeds” of up to 86mph as he travelled down the M57 and M58.
