Watch: Do voters care about PM Modi’s ‘mutton in Sawan’ jibe?

India is days away from deciding its votes. As the poll campaign intensifies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invoked religion to hit out at the Opposition.

At a recent rally at Jammu’s Udhampur, Modi accused INDIA bloc leaders Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav of “teasing” people by eating “mutton in Sawan” and “fish in Navratri”.

Notably, a pre-poll survey by CSDS-Lokniti said unemployment is the biggest issue for voters, followed by inflation and development. Hindutva is a poll issue for only two percent of voters. But what’s the mandate on the ground? How are people reacting to the ‘mutton in Sawan’ controversy?
